The ReadID demo app (beforehand identified as NFC Passport Reader) reads and verifies the RFID chip embedded in digital passports, nationwide identification playing cards and diversified ICAO compliant identification paperwork (ePassport, or, in ICAO 9309 terminology, Machine Readable Stride Paperwork: MRTD). The app optically scans (OCR) the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) to develop entry to the embedded chip. It then reads the embedded chip the usage of NFC and displays the biographical and biometric data of the file holder, as successfully as file data, after which security tests, equivalent to Active Authentication, Doc Signature Validation, and Country Signature Validation, are finished and detailed results are proven.
The app also helps digital driving licenses (eDL, ISO 18013, currently restricted to Dutch driving licenses).
